Verizon Wireless and ATT Forwarding Codes
By: Mark Jacobsen

Ever want to forward calls to your cell phone to another line? This can be great especially for sending all your voicemail to 1 place or a transcription service.

Here are the codes you need to set it up. You may even want to setup a "contact" in your cell address book so you don't have to remember this stuff (that's what I do)

Verizon
Immediate Call Forward: *72xxxxxxxxxx (ex: *725556667788)
Number Busy/No Answer Call Forwarding: *71xxxxxxxxxx (ex: *715556667788)
Turn off forwarding: *73

ATT
Immediate Call Forward: *21*xxxxxxxxxx# (ex: *21*5556667788#)
Turn off immediate call forward: #002#
Number Busy/No Answer Call Forwarding: *004*1xxxxxxxxxx*11# (ex: *004*15556667788*11#)
Turn off forwarding: ##004#

Basically, when used from your cell phone, Immediate Call Forward will just send calls to the number you supply without ringing your cell phone. This is the one you want (for instance) if you want to forward calls from an on-call phone to your personal phone so you don't have to look like Batman carrying 2 phones on your utility belt.

Number Busy/No Answer Call Forwarding, on the other hand, will ring your cell phone, but if you are on the phone or do not answer, the call will be forwarded to the number you supply. This is the option you want if forwarding your calls for transcription so you can read your voicemail.
